NCICD Giant Sea Wall Phase A Project in Marunda Resumed

The project of long-planned giant sea wall phase A, also called the National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) in Marunda Urban Village, Cilincing, North Jakarta, finally resumed. It is targeted to be completed in the forthcoming December.

Physical work such as spoon pile installation will begin tomorrow

Asep Kriswana, Head of NCICD Project for PT Waskita Beton Precast in Marunda disclosed, the work includes 1,000 meters in the Marunda Coast from Blencong River. It is divided into zone A along 300 meters towards downstream and zone B along the 700 meters to the upstream.

"Physical work such as spoon pile installation will begin tomorrow. Today we are still in preparation process," he stated, Tuesday (7/17).

Each spoon pile has 24 meters length. Most of them will be installed and leave the height of the embankment about 4.8 meters from the water level.

It will involve one unit of crane and barge to maximize the work. Most of the work will be done by sea.

Mohammad Benyamin, Coordinator of East Flow Development Staff Division uttered, since 2016, spoon pile had been installed up to 582 meters. And this year, it would be installed up to 1,000 meters and is targeted will be complete in December.

"And we will recontinue it by installing up to 24 meters in 2019. This year we focus on land acquisition," he stated.
